Ryan David Moore (born December 5, 1982) is a professional golfer from Puyallup, WA, who is currently playing on the PGA Tour. Coming up the ranks, he has reached the pinnacle of each echelon, from world’s #1 ranked junior golfer in 2001, to being the top collegiate player in the nation, as well as top Amateur in the nation in 2004, to his breakthrough victory on the PGA Tour at the Wyndham Championship in 2009. He may still be most famous for his record breaking amateur season in 04′ where he seized five titles in one summer (including the US Amateur, US Publinks, NCAA Championship, Western Am, and World Am Titles). Many golf experts claim this is the greatest feat by an Amateur golfer in the modern era, dating back to, and only rivaled by the late Bobby Jones himself.
Ryan’s always done things his own way, often even eschewing hundreds of thousands of dollars in formal club, ball, shoes, corporate, and even clothing contracts just to make sure he was playing the equipment he wanted. It was in those times he was making sure he was playing golf for all for of the right reasons, to get back to the roots of his passion in the game that drove him all the way through his amateur career. Coming into 2011, he has finally found equipment (Adams Golf) that he wants to play and has been playing for years, and shoes (TRUE linkswear) that he wants to be wearing.
Coming off one of his greatest years on tour in 2010, Moore finished 21st in the Fed Ex Cup, and climbed as high as 42nd in the Official World Golf Rankings. He had 10 top 25 finishes, highlighted by 6 top 10 finishes capped off by a seasons best 2nd place finish at the AT&T National. We are expecting Moore great accomplishments to come in 2011.
